Galvanized tin was used for the interior ceiling as well as the exterior roofing.  Cedar was used to finish out the interior walls.  Wiring for 12 volt light fixtures on DC current is in place for the solar power.  A wood burning fireplace to provide heat as well as a beautiful mantle detail for the space.

We used "Marmoleum" for the flooring.  Marmoleum is a thoroughly versatile floor covering made from natural and harvestable raw materials such as linseed oil, wood flour, chalk and pine rosin.  As well as being environmentally friendly it is durable, hardwearing and easy to clean.  It is available in a comprehensive range of colors and designs.   We obtained our Marmoleum and all our natural paints and stains from:

The Natural Life Provision Company in Blanco, Texas (telephone 830-833-5948)

"Enviroboard"  is a non-toxic product used in place of drywall.  It has advantages of being waterproof, fireproof, as well as having better insulation properties.

Enviro Board is a sustainable, ultra-affordable housing infrastructure solution that employs waste agricultural straw as a base substrate material.
Enviro Board panels offer a superior building product that is easy to handle and assemble. Enviro Board Panels are solid "concrete like" fiber panels comprised of highly compressed straw fibers. Panels are extruded through the mill in a continual process, covered with a durable waterproof paper membrane, cut to desired lengths and end-capped. Panel density and thickness can also be adjusted.
Because of their flexibility, Enviro Board panels can be used in a variety of applications, depending the on their thickness: Exterior or interior walls; roofs, ceilings and sub-flooring; sound abatement walls; insulation; office wall partitions; door cores; and whatever else you dream

The Enviro Board panel replaces conventional and traditional building materials, such as drywall, thermal insulation, exterior moisture barrier (typically tar paper) and exterior plywood. In addition, because of its 32 width, using Enviro Board panels requires 50% less studs and eliminates unnecessary expenses in the form of materials and labor needed to assemble the materials.

Fire Resistance: 1 1/2 hours burn rating with two panel thickness
Sound Reduction: 31.1 decibels total loss at 512 frequencies for single standard panel
