For Future Generations: The Raven Lodge
In the native tradition, Raven is a messenger of prayer and magic. It is associated with the smoke that rises, curling, from a pipe smoked with prayerful intention. Raven is also a symbol of the Great Mystery, the Void of silence and nothing, from which all is manifest. Raven can cross back and forth between the worlds of the known and the unknown; that which is manifest and that which is pure potential. This is the source of Raven’s magic. Raven can also bring clarity to the confused mind. After close inspection from Raven’s dark, piercing eyes, s/he unabashedly “caws” it for what it is. Raven is a powerful ally for any individual or generation needing to clearly see the truth, the ability to heal through ritual and prayer, and the ability to perceive and embrace “magical” solutions.
Every generation faces it’s own, unique dynamics of social, economic and environmental challenges. The coming generations may face challenges greater than any ever faced before. The most useful tools we can bequeath to them are a sense of self-confidence, humor, connectedness to each other, and to Gaia – the Divine Earth.
All of these tools are required to raise a lodge.
Today, we joyfully support the next generation in gaining experience with these vital tools as they raise the Raven Lodge in the meadow of Turning Stones Ranch. Your presence and participation in this intention are greatly and gratefully welcome.
As Elders, we wholeheartedly give thanks for and dedicate the blessings of the Raven Lodge to self-awareness, creating community and Earth stewardship for future generations.
