We have ongoing projects developing our facilities to live more in harmony with Mother Nature and Gaia.  Continuing efforts include organic gardening and compost systems, rainwater collection and water harvesting, remodel with environmentally friendly building materials, and the addition of solar and wind power systems.  Please visit our photogallery for more information and progress on these projects.

Turning Stones Ranch is an organic, green, eco-friendly retreat facility and spa located only 40 miles west of Austin, Texas. Offering an eagle-eye view of the valley formed by Sycamore Creek, Turning Stones Ranch has a long history of earth stewardship, and is rich with natural and gently encouraged geographical vortexes.

We offer a wide range of spa services, plus retreat and workshop facilities for intimate groups. Facilities include:

  • An off-the-grid, Ceremonial House with an adjoining rainwater bathhouse, and star deck with a spiral staircase.

  • In the meadow below, three tipis and a 20' x 20' workspace pavilion form a little village that commands 300-feet of pristine creek.

Our facilities are available to assist individuals and spiritual communities play, explore, celebrate, heal and grow. We are especially suited for teachers and facilitators who require a connection to and an honoring of the Earth, for their event.

We also offer assistance in promoting and/or organizing and staging. We can videotape your workshop and give you the raw footage, or a range of finished promotional products for future use.

We welcome you, your group and your efforts to this land.

Please contact us for space availability and rates. carolz@turningstonesranch.com  (512) 858-2266

"...when one is in harmony and right relationship with the place where one lives, there is magic and beauty everywhere."

Dialogues with the Living Earth, James Swan

The labyrinth above was established decades ago by the previous owner, a Buddhist and artist whose prayers and stonework still bless the land.

Looking north from "Wudang Rock" where the Abbot (Wudang Temple in the southern mountains of China) contemplated and drew Taoist symbols in the air. Check our Photo Gallery for more on the Wudang Blessing Ceremony that took place here on July 13, 2006.

Looking back at our house and the pond from Wudang Rock.

View of the pond, where Annie has created a Mecca for environmentally helpful critters. We have frogs, tadpoles, fish and thriving plants. Life is welcome here - and lovingly tended.

By the creek, Grandfather Cypress trees cool their roots and provide good shade at a deep, spring fed swimming hole. This was taken on a day where cottonball clouds speckled a sky so blue it hurt.
